Well, the Biden Documents results have be unleashed on the American people, and it is somewhat scathing to Biden, though no charges will be filed.
The typical right-wing people are all over the internet attacking with the same nonsense, the “two-tiered” justice system. That is hardly what is going on here, and they are gas lighting the real differences between the two cases, I will touch on that shortly, but let’s stick to the current “hit piece”.
Ben Hur injected a lot of ammo for the right wing into this report, but the bottom line is there will be no charges.
The main point that the right is touching on here, is that Biden is:
“Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,”
This was not the main reason that Hur decided no charges were going to be filed though, there were a lot of reasons through his long report.
Hur injected personal opinions into his findings that gave red meat to the MAGA-sphere. One of which was bringing up that Biden could not remember the date his son died.
This did not belong in any finding in the special counsel report, it had absolutely NOTHING to do with the investigation and was absolutely a hit piece against Biden, whenever his son’s death is brought up, Biden gets visibly upset, and I am sure Hur knew putting that in the report would get Biden going.
Hur, who was nominated by Trump for the District of Maryland as U.S. Attorney and confirmed, is a textbook Trump loyalist.
The personal interjections were not needed in anyway, as the findings opened with:
“We conclude that no criminal charges are warranted in this matter,” he wrote. “We would reach the same conclusion even if Department of Justice policy did not foreclose criminal charges against a sitting president.”
Hur said throughout investigation and findings that he did not believe that anything he found would substantiate filing charges against Biden. The closest he got was one instance where Biden asked a ghostwriter to look at a word, he was unsure of in personal notes.
Hur also brought up stark differences between the Biden documents and the Trump stolen documents.
“Several material distinctions” between the two cases were clear, and the allegations against Mr. Trump, if proved, “present serious aggravating facts” unlike the evidence involving Mr. Biden, Mr. Hur wrote. In particular, he said, the two men had responded very differently to the situations.
“Most notably, after being given multiple chances to return classified documents and avoid prosecution, Mr. Trump allegedly did the opposite,” Mr. Hur’s report said. “According to the indictment, he not only refused to return the documents for many months, but he also obstructed justice by enlisting others to destroy evidence and then to lie about it.”
He added: “In contrast, Mr. Biden turned in classified documents to the National Archives and the Department of Justice, consented to the search of multiple locations including his homes, sat for a voluntary interview and in other ways cooperated with the investigation.”
Now going back to the right saying that Biden obviously cannot be President because of these findings, we lets bring up a few Trump issues.
He could not identify a photo if it was his ex-wife or E. Jean Carrol.
Trump claimed that the revolutionary war that troops took over airports, that did not even exist.
Trump in his interview with Mueller could not recall, remember or recollect more than 30 times.
Trump said that Nicky Haley was in charge of capital security on January 6th.
There are many more instances of Trump, and questioning his mental capacity, but do not let the right gaslight the facts here. Yes they are both old, that is a given. But to say that Trump is better than Biden in the mind lane, is just flat out wrong.
